Admission arrangements for Sunflowers (2 year olds)

We have a 2-year-old provision (Sunflowers). This is for children whose parents are in receipt of specific benefits. Parents need a funding code to apply for this provision. Applications can be made, once you have the 2-year funding code, using the Nursery Application Form button below.

Admission Policy for Foundation Stage 1

Currently, all 3 year-olds are entitled to 15 hours per week of education in term time, starting from the term after their 3rd birthday.

Since September 2017, the Government has offered funded places for 3-4 year olds (F1) for 30 hours per week for working parents within a specified income bracket. We are able to offer this provision but are limited to 10 spaces. Applications for 30hrs can be made via the school website (use the Nursery Application Form button below).

We adhere to the principles of the Local Authority Admissions Policy for Early Years Centres and Nursery Classes in Community & Voluntary Aided Schools which states that if there are not enough places:-

• The Governing Body will give priority to children who will become four during the coming academic year and offer 15 hours to all initially.

• If insufficient places, first priority will be given to Looked After Children and children with a particular medical reason for selecting the school.

• Second priority will be given to those living within the catchment area of the school

• Third priority will be given to those living closest to the school.

IMPORTANT: Please note that a place in our F1 Class does not guarantee a place in our F2 Class. You must apply for F2 places via the Local Authority who manage admissions and allocate places for F2 across Wirral, following the procedure set out under the admissions

Admission arrangements in Year 1 or above

Our Admission Number for every year group from F2-Year 6 is 56. If transferring between schools always speak with the current Headteacher first to explain your reasons for applying for a transfer. The current Headteacher will speak with the Headteacher of the receiving school before the arrangements are made. Request a Common Admission Form (or Transfer request form) from any Wirral primary School or One Stop Shop or by calling the Local Authority on 0151-606-2020 during office hours. This should be completed and returned to the Local Authority Admissions Office at the address below:-

Dept of Education/ Admissions
Hamilton Building
Conway Street
Birkenhead  CH41 4FD

Your child will be offered a place in the school of your choice as long as there is room in the Year Group (56 places) and that this does not take the class size over 30 in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2)
